Oak in Richmond Park

132 x 80 x 2 cm

Drawing of an Oak in Richmond Park, London England.

Back in 2024, I spent a cold, frosty winter morning scouring Richmond Park for solitary oak trees. After exploring the entire park, I settled on this delicate and graceful oak, standing beside a grassy pathway near the Isabella Plantation.

It stands out from a distance in the wider winter landscape, with its main branches stretching out like arms, as though reaching out to greet you.

Bathed in the golden morning light, its beautifully balanced crown echoes the rising sun itself – awakening a sense of wonder at the natural world, on the edge of one of the world’s great capital cities.

Due to the tree's wide, low-spreading form, the line work is exceptionally dense. The intricate drawing took approximately 500 hours to complete.

Laser-etched/burnt into a birch wood panel. Mounted onto a Lime wood surround frame. Supplied ready to hang, with fixings and picture cord attached.

Limited Edition of 50

Signed & Numbered on the reverse.
